Welcome to the Unconventional Text Writer

Unconventional Text Writer is a lean UI to get great story prompts and responses without the bloat.

This is a frontend-only webapp. Your stories and settings stay in your browser; prompts only go to the model provider.

We now use OpenRouter as the sole model provider—add your OpenRouter API key in Settings to pick from the hosted models.

Here are the main features to streamline your creative process:

• Powered by OpenRouter with access to a variety of proprietary and open source models
• Pinning dialog prompts: Keep a dialog in memory and let older dialogs drop out of context as needed.
• Preserve key story details: Pinning dialog prompts ensures essential elements of your story don't get lost over time.
• Smart filtering for story writing, like only sending the most recent user prompt
• Hide dialog that is out of context. Allowing you to focus on the current scenes of your story
• Exporting stories: Seamlessly export your story, including out-of-context dialog. Choose to export only AI responses or both user prompts and AI responses.
